Im not sure what others are talking about in reference to the sizing, I am 5'8 130 and im on the smaller side of the length settings however you can make them much smaller. They clasp body is made of metal but the part that engages with pants appears to be nylon. I have not had it damage or mar my pants at all.

I bought these pants, and I find they look long until you have put on your boots. The style is to look somewhat baggy, so if they are, that's normal.
