Bit of history: I have been riding Armada stick since my first AR7s 7 years ago. And because of the high quality/feel of their skis, I have not looked back. Im still ripping one pair of AR7s and my Ar Zeros.
I picked up a pair of 96s after chatting with some homies about riding a ski with rocker in them. While I honestly did not get much of a chance to rip them due to everything shutting down, im excited to rip these bad boys on both jumps and jibs.
If there is one thing I can recommend to upcoming riders, it is to invest in a pair of armadas. The ski will get the job done and have a fun time while doing it

Well, I’ll tell you what, these will be the most responsive thing you’ve ever experienced and you’ll forget all about your lady issues. I know I did! These are amazing do-it-all skis and will be your one true love for basically any condition out there. Whether you want to carve turns like your how your Meemaw carves that sweet sweet holiday ham every year, enjoy some nice buttery-ness like you enjoy some fresh baked biscuits soaked with some good butter, or even just throw around and drown in that white powder like you did in Vegas last New Years, these would be the skis for you my friend. I’ve truly enjoyed these skis and will always trust Armada to deliver a solid product. They are the ski of the people!

I have skid many different brands over the years from Rossignol, Line, JSkis, and Armada. And I have to say these ARV96’s get the job done 11 times out of 10. I’ve improved in ways I couldn’t believe just by switching the twigs under my feet and beyond the performance. Who wouldn’t want to call a pair of skis with the brand name armada and the dope graphics theirs?? Great skis overall they hold together fantastic in the park, great flexibility for butters and they’re perfectly symmetrical front to rear for switch skiing. I live on the Ice Coast so I deal with some harsh conditions that past skis haven’t been able to take... snapped (see pics of my rossignols and lines). And these
are great even at high speeds in the worst of conditions. Nothing beats it baby

If you plan on solely doing groomed trails, and are relatively new to skiing the 177 would be just fine. If you ski very hard and ride any sort of powder the 184 would be best. The change in glide would be negligible, but the 184 will give you more control at high speeds

Hey John!
Stoked your are going with ARV 96 for your park setup. Its the ultimate if you are looking to progress. You an go with 1 of two lengths depending on what you are needing. The 170 is going to be about 5cm shorter than you, which will make it easier to maneuver around for learning new spins and tricks. This option will be more forgiving. The 177 length will be a couple cm longer than you, but will have the advantage of more surface area. This additional area will give you more stability on larger jumps and at higher speeds. Can't go wrong with either, go with the size that appeals more to what you are wanting!

Awesome to hear you are getting into park skiing! Glad you decided to go with Armada! The ARV 96 are going to be your best bet for all mountain skis that slay in the park as well. 96 underfoot is a bit wider and allows you to rip the whole mountain while also sliding rails and hitting jumps. The ARV 86 are a bit smaller underfoot so they will be a bit more forgiving when learning new tricks. If you are wanting a more butter specific ski, check out the Edollo or Bdog as they have a softer flex pattern than the ARVs. These skis are more park oriented in nature and are a great ski to start on!

Hey Danny_skutin!
Factory recommended on the 170 ARV 96 is 79 cm, Freestyle recommended is 81.5 cm.
Factory measurement is the furthest aft mount on ski for best performance for the general user who does not prefer a more forward mount
Freestyle measurement is secondary mount point that is further forward on the ski for a more even balanced mount for park and pipe.
These measurements are found by measuring in a directly line from tail of ski towards the waist of ski
Thanks!

Hey LJ22!
Stoked on your interest in the ARV 96! Where your brother is about 165cm tall, each length could work for him depending on what his ski preferences are. The 163 will be a few cm shorter than him, so with that gives him added maneuverability and forgiveness in varied terrain. If he is using these in the park, there will be less to swing around and will aid in his progression. If he is newer to skiing, the 163 may be his best bet for easier learning. If he is a more aggressive skier, the 170 will offer the benefit of additional surface area. A longer ski provides more stability at speeds and provides balance if he is hammering through bumps etc. If he is using this for more all mountain, and less with a park focus, the 170 will allow him to slay the whole mountain. Go with the length that matches his style!
Thanks!

I think you are on it with the Strive! At your level, the Strive is your best bet for neutral stance, and safety! The STH are great, but if you do not need a more "burly" binding, the Strive is just perfect. and 100mm is great : )
