AR TEAM SUMMIT 2022

THE AR WEEK FAMILY REUNION.

ARMADA TEAM SUMMIT 2022

The AR Team flocked from all corners of the globe to Kläppen Snowpark last May. Piggybacking on the Kimbo Sessions, Kimbo himself hosted the whole crew at his home resort, serving up a pristine park setup. The long-awaited reunion was an unreal week of skiing with a stacked roster of athletes reconnecting in the long daylight hours of Swedish Spring.

Kimbo had promised a sunset session was in the offering, but skepticism permeated through the crew. Low-lying clouds and ever-present moisture that never seemed to fully dissipate hung in the air.

As the sun dipped lower, well after 10 p.m. at such a high latitude, a sudden glow shot across the horizon, a backdrop for the ages as skiers trained through the park under brilliant hues. Always listen to the locals, especially when it’s Kim Boberg.

Kimbo has been part of the AR Team for nearly half his life,

so it’s only natural he’d be at the center of the first AR Team Summit in a long time after a couple years of worldwide travel disruptions. In an enormous undertaking, Kimbo organized all the logistics to bring the whole crew to his home resort. Nearly the entire athlete roster—save for a few who weren’t able to attend due to injury of other obligations—alongside Armada’s staff and product team convened in Kläppen for a week of collaboration, positive vibes and unbelievable skiing.

THIS IS ARMADA.

After the meetings, that collaboration manifested on the hill.

Every athlete in Kläppen skied numerous prototypes, providing real-time feedback with blind testing on back-to-back laps with different ski constructions. That process helped develop the next generation of Armada skis, integrating athlete expertise with innovative design and engineering to create something the athletes and the product team believe in.

But at its heart, AR Week isn’t about designing products. It’s about family.

It’s people from around the world getting together and sharing experiences. It’s seeing some of the best skiers in the world, from living legends to up-and-comers who’ll write the next chapter of skiing, create unique lines and redefine style on the mountain. It’s those skiers lapping until dark, even in the rain, because their drive on snow comes from true passion not hype. It’s longtime AR Family Collaborator Dillon Cooper getting on skis for the first time and going from barely being able to walk on skis to greasing jump lines before week’s end. It’s late nights, early mornings, creativity and connections. It’s AR Week, and it’s unforgettable
